Microsoft have introduced a new feature to let users set customisable, automated breaks between back-to-back meetings. The feature is being rolled out to combat the rise of digital overload and employee burnout which has been caused by the shift to remote working during the pandemic. Learn how to use the new feature by following the simple steps below!

To schedule breaks between your meetings:

  1. In Outlook select File > Options from the pane on the left..
  2. Click Calendar > Events and invitations.
  3. Tick the “Shorten duration of all events” box, and customise whether you’d like your meetings to start later, or end earlier. The new function also allows you to customise break lengths for different meeting durations. Click Save to apply your new settings.
